Workforce Upkskilling
Our Latino population has high employment rates coupled with very high levels of poverty. Economically strengthening our Latino workforce is important to the Latino community as well as to the competitiveness of the region. The Hispanic Collaborative has developed and implemented a workforce upskilling pilot that puts the Latino worker at the center of the design. We have had strong initial success with a focus on health care opportunities and Certified Nursing Assistant training. We are currently scaling this program, together with our community partners, to achieve a goal of 1,000 participants/year. We believe that this program will eventually feed multiple in-demand industries and career and serve 3,000 Latinos/year.
